Master Plan

The Michigamme Township Master Plan serves as a long-range guide for the Township's future growth, development, recreation, and preservation. The plan was created to help Township officials, residents, and community organizations make informed decisions that support a sustainable future while protecting the area's natural beauty and rural character. The plan outlines community goals related to land use, economic development, recreation, transportation, housing, and environmental stewardship throughout Michigamme Township.

The Master Plan also functions as the Township’s Recreation Plan, helping Michigamme Township qualify for future recreation grants and funding opportunities through the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The plan highlights the Township’s abundant outdoor recreation opportunities, including lakes, forests, trails, and public lands that contribute to the area’s unique quality of life and tourism appeal.
